for Teachers and Careers/Personal Advisers
An
extensive programme of events and activities to encourage your
students to consider Higher Education has been established.
You
might consider a partnership for progression in a particular career
sector. There are opportunities for staff and student exchange
and sharing resources.

Facilities
on offer are;
Aimhigher
Day
This day is targeted at Year 9 upward and focuses on making decisions
prior to Further and Higher Education. Your students work with
HE students on various activities that provide insights into Higher
Education options and University life. A campus tour is included
in the programme, if not held at school. Numbers are limited for
this activity
Aimhigher
Taster Day
This day is aimed at students who show potential and are capable
of studying at HE level. These students may have identified subject
areas they would like to develop but have not thought of continuing
on to Higher Education. Previous days have included ‘Design your
own web page’, ‘Making a video’ and ‘ Building a robot’. Numbers
are limited for this activity
HE
Awareness Session
This activity has been developed to raise awareness of HE amongst
Year 10 and 11 students and runs for two hours. The session includes
a video, campus tour, discussion about the choices and decisions
after GCSE’s and a talk, delivered by current HE students, about
the realities of student life. It concludes with an interactive
question and answer session.
Information
Sessions
A wide variety of sessions are available delivered either at a
Higher Education Institution or in your own school. HE students
are available to make specific talks more realistic to your own
students and are available to take questions about the practicalities
of student life such as: UCAS, Student Life, Higher Education
opportunities, Subject Talks, Doubts and Debt.
We
are also available to provide general information and guidance
about HE at Parents/Careers Events, Choices Events, Careers Fairs
