Meet the Mentors!
The Bournemouth Summer School Mentors for 2007 will be:
Tracey Knight
"Hi, my name's Tracey. I’m originally from Cornwall so I guess I’m a bit of a country bumpkin, and I go to Bournemouth University. This is the first year I’m going to be helping out with the summer schools, so I’m really excited about it! I turned 21 in February which I was sad about because it means I’m getting old, but I had a brilliant Karaoke party to celebrate it, where I made an absolute fool out of myself, because sadly I don’t have the vocal range of Mariah Carey. "
Jason Shanks
"I'm 24 years old and from good old Northampton Town in the Midlands (although that probably just means northern to most of you guys). I have absolutely loved moving to Bournemouth as a student and my three years so far have been three of the best years of my life. Coming to uni has changed me as a person and has enabled me to meet a load of new friends, some of whom I am sure will be friends for life. I’m passionate about everything I do, including my education and I definitely go by the theory ‘if you work hard, you can play hard’. I’d like to think of myself as a friendly and approachable person so I look forward to working with you guys at the summer schools. "
Andy White
"I’m 21 years old and I’m originally from Birmingham. I moved to a small town called Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire when I was 9 so fortunately I haven’t been lumbered with the Brummie accent! I’m studying Finance and Business at Bournemouth University and in September I’ll be going into my fourth and final year! I’ve loved every minute of University life, although independence can be testing sometimes (especially keeping on top of your washing) you have the opportunity to meet so many people and make loads of new friends . . . . . whilst working towards your degree!
